Hello Easy Homemade Spaghetti Sauce! This is my go to recipe anytime I’m in a pinch for dinner. It’s easy, hearty, and my family loves it. I can also feel good about giving it to my kids as it’s made with whole food ingredients. It’s great over zoodles, chickpea noodles (my favorite), as a dipping sauce to garlic bread, or just plain ol’ spaghetti noodles. It also freezes well if you want to make it in bulk.

    Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

Let’s start with the meat portion of this recipe. You may have noticed that I’m seasoning the beef with the exact same ingredients that I’m putting in the sauce….why? Because it seasons the beef! This allows a full flavored bite, instead of a sauce that has flavor with some bland meat that was just sitting in it.

Use this principle in any dish! Whenever you’re cooking a base of a sauce or a soup, season up the base ingredients and you’ll get a much richer depth of flavor. This can be meats, veggies, or just precooking some herbs in oil to get more flavor.

After you’ve seasoned your beef mixture well and it’s cooked through, time to dump in the rest of the ingredients. Can I tell you how much I love dump recipes?! They are the BEST! It’s cooking at it’s most convenient. Once everything is dumped in, stir away until everything is incorporated. Cover the sauce for 5 minutes to let the flavors deepen and the onion to soften.
